This policy explains what personal information Samui Elegance Real Estate collects through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), known as the PDPA.
Who we are
Samui Elegance Real Estate is a real estate agency on Koh Samui, Surat Thani, Thailand. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info.samuielegance@gmail.com or on +66 92 981 6992.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use a contact or enquiry form, message us on WhatsApp, email or phone us, we receive what you choose to share: usually your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, whether you want to buy, rent or sell, your budget, the type and size of property you are looking for, your timeline and your message.
- Account details. If you create an account to save properties or searches, we store your username, email address and the listings and searches you save.
- Email updates. If you subscribe to updates, we store your email address.
- Technical information. Like any website, our server records basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to run and secure the site.
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics services to profile visitors.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and send you properties that match what you have asked for.
- To arrange viewings and, if you go ahead, to help with the rental or purchase.
- To send updates you have subscribed to. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep the website working and protect it from spam and misuse.
- To meet legal obligations, for example record keeping on a completed transaction.
Under the PDPA we rely on your consent, on steps you ask us to take before entering into an agreement, on our legitimate interest in running and securing this website, and on legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed to help you:
- with property owners, developers or other agents when you ask about a specific property or viewing;
- with lawyers, the Land Office or other professionals involved in a transaction, when you ask us to;
- with service providers that run this website and our email, such as our hosting company;
- with Google, whose reCAPTCHA checks form submissions for spam and whose Maps shows property locations. Google’s use of that data is covered by its own privacy policy;
- with WhatsApp (Meta) when you choose to contact us there;
- with authorities where the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data outside Thailand. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the PDPA requires.
Cookies
The site uses cookies needed for it to work: keeping you signed in, remembering saved and compared properties, your currency choice, spam protection on forms and page caching. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but some features, such as signing in or saving properties, may stop working.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we are helping you and for up to two years after our last contact, so we can follow up on properties you were interested in. Records linked to a completed rental or sale are kept for as long as Thai law requires. You can ask us to delete your details sooner.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete it, or stop or restrict how we use it;
- move it to another provider in a usable format;
- withdraw consent you have given, such as for email updates.
Email info.samuielegance@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can also complain to Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee.
Security
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who handle them. No system is completely secure, so please do not send passport or bank details through the website forms.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
